Members of the St. Benedict Technology Consortium enjoy many benefits beyond the scope of simple technical support. Many of our current members have received desktop computers and networking equipment valued in excess of their yearly membership dues to the Consortium. SBTC actively seeks corporate and academic donors to make technology available to its members, and when this technology is useful to member schools, it is passed along at minimal cost (the cost of shipping/handling the equipment).
Membership in the St. Benedict Technology Consortium comes typically at one of three levels. These levels define the amount of support, and are best thought of in terms of how the member organization seeks to position itself in relation to technology.
Tier 1 is intended to be at a cost all schools can afford. It includes all basic support components, including live helpdesk, regular onsite technical support, and assistance with network, hardware and services integrity. Schools selecting this level want to get their feet under them in terms of technology, and have no immediate large scale deployment plans.
Level 2 is intended for schools seeking to more fully advance their technology, and who may be making it a small part of their marketing or retention efforts, in addition to adding or sustaining moderately complex projects such as wireless deployments or additional computer labs. Level 2 includes all basic services from level 1.
Level 3 is intended for schools that intend to market technology significantly, and expect it to be a major part of admission, retention, and classroom instruction efforts. Projects such as 1 to 1 computing, online learning initiatives, or other significant challenges are supported at this level. It includes all services available in levels 1 and 2.
Pricing is a flat fee per student, per year. Differences in service pricing levels reflect the additional hours/costs of providing higher tiers of service. SBTC, as a non-profit, wants to provide the right level of service to member organizations, but we do not "up sell" as there is no more profit to use in a Tier 3 vs a Tier 1 organization, merely what is appropriate in terms of the amount of support needed for each organization. Pricing is as follows, per student, per year:
Thus, a school with 200 students would pay $7,800 for Level 1, or $11,800 for level 2, or $15,800 for level 3.
Regular technician time on-site is not metered (technicians are typically dispatched for a full 6-hour day), nor are helpdesk calls capped in quantity. SBTC believes that its members should be encouraged to seek the support they need, by covering all basic support via comprehensive fee.
For new schools, there is a one-time onboarding fee. The fee reflects the amount of work SBTC needs to do up front, in terms of documenting, tracing, identifying and stabilizing the initial IT environment. Onboarding is also linked to tier, and is $500 for Tier 1, $750 for Tier 2, and $1,000 for Tier 3.
Fee-for-Service Option
While SBTC prefers to support organizations on a consistent, ongoing basis (which is the best way to ensure consistent function and growth of integration), that is not always the best option for a given organization. As such, SBTC will evaluate project requests from non-member organizations. It may not be possible to address every request from non-member organizations, but we are glad to evaluate all opportunities to assist non-profits with their IT needs. Please feel free to contact us.
Typical Fee-for-Service rates

Special Project support - Member Organizations -$30/Hour
Special Project support - Non-Member Catholic Organizations - $45/Hour
